Bylines
If you are a local individual, business professional or journalist with expertise in writing on a specific topic or news area that you believe would be of interest to the community at large and wish to contribute informative articles on a regular basis , please contact us with your interest in obtaining byline status. Bylines are provided to individuals who commit to contribute a minimum of twice monthly for a period of one year.
Students: If you are an Arizona journalism student with publication requirements for class or wish to have a news venue for publishing your news articles and gaining added exposure, we are most happy to consider your community stories and news submissions. Please contact us expressing your interest, using your “edu” email address. Once we have contacted you, follow submission guidelines found on this page. If accepted, your submission will be published with attribution under the Student Journalist byline.
Calendar of Events
Our Phoenix Arizona Events Calendar is for events happening in and around the Greater Phoenix Area, Arizona and Utah.
Your Phoenix events and activities can be added to the calendar quickly and easily without the assistance of our staff.
We strive to make this Arizona calendar of events as comprehensive as possible and welcome your event additions. Events are moderated for quality assurance.
PR Agencies
This is your opportunity to get the news out the way you write it. We will consider guest articles, news and event submissions from you on behalf of your Phoenix area clients or from your national clients if topic is deemed a good fit for our readership. This service is free and our goal is to provide a fair mix of business and community news, however we are limited on the total number of submissions we can accept and publish on a daily basis.

News and Story Ideas
East Valley Living welcomes your submissions. We encourage local individuals, businesses, community groups, and other organizations to submit community interest stories, newsworthy announcements and information about upcoming events for publication on EVLiving.com.
Publication service is free, however we limit news announcements about individuals, groups or businesses to one per month with an occasional exception depending on news of the day and readership interest in topic. There are no limitations on news announcements about local, non-profit, community-focused organizations. Due to high volumes of community submissions, we are limited on the number of free submissions we can publish on a daily basis.

Types of News Considered
We will consider informative community interest stories, guest articles and newsworthy announcements on most topics as long as they are not advertorial or commercial in nature.
We Will Consider Newsworthy Announcements such as:
- Book Reviews (new or recent)
- Business Expo (ticket prices okay)
- Business News Announcements
- Carnival/Circus/Fairs (ticket prices okay)
- Community events for the public (donation, low or no cost)
- Elected Officials (or candidates) Press Releases
- Entertainment venue/event (ticket prices okay)
- Fund raisers (most causes)
- Grand Opening (i.e., new business, new location, new store)
- Heroic Recognition
- Job Fair
- Movie Reviews (new or recent)
- Municipality News and Events
- Networking Events
- Open House (i.e., annual, anniversary)
- Significant awards for individual or business (prestigious state or national level)
- Significant new hire announcements (XYZ hires state or nationally recognized John Doe)
- Significant promotions (ABC promotes Accounting Clerk to Treasurer)
- Sports event/venue (ticket prices okay)
We Will Not Consider Advertorial, Commercial & Non-Newsworthy announcements such as):
- Block Parties
- Business products or services (unless patent pending or significantly unique)
- Classes/Lectures/Sessions (fee-based) for commercial businesses
- Consumer Products
- Private Parties (unless fundraisers, prefer submission after the fact)
- Restaurant menu or new menu items
- Sales on commercial goods or services
- Website Launch or Redesign
- Yard Sales
We do not publish letters to the Editor, self-serving, opinionated, political agendas, religious, individual or special interest group’s editorial commentary, or defaming, scandalous and/or otherwise slanderous submissions.
Permission to Publish
By submitting content, you are giving East Valley Living permission to publish the information on its website located at http://www.EVLiving.com, and:
(a) you agree to grant to East Valley Living a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive right and license (including any moral rights or other necessary rights) to use, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, perform, promote, archive, translate, in whole or in part. Such license will apply with respect to any form, media, technology known or later developed;
(b) you warrant and represent that you have all legal, moral, and other rights that may be necessary to grant us with the license set forth;
(c) you acknowledge and agree that the editorial staff reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to publish submitted content in whole or in part, may edit, modify, revise, archive or remove published content at any time, or may decline a submission for any reason, with or without notice.
(d) you acknowledge that if accepted and published, your information becomes public and other media outlets or news aggregation outlets may also pick up your news and links to article may also display in search engine results on the web or in news, thus giving your submission the potential for exposure on a worldwide scope.

Submission Instructions
By submitting content, you are giving East Valley Living permission to publish the information on its website located at http://www.EVLiving.com.
Type or paste the community story, news or event announcement into the body of an email addressed to Editor @ EVLiving.com. For security, we do not accept attachments unless we have requested them.
Minimum Requirements:
- Suggested title (subject to editorial approval)
- Minimum 200 words (not less than two paragraphs) Maximum 750 words
Content should address the “who, what, where, when, why”
(Submissions containing only bullets, fragmented sentences or little more than a line or two with the name of event, date and location will not be considered as a news submission and would be a better fit for our free Calendar of Events.) - PLUS an About Us/Contact Us/Attribution paragraph that may include a relevant link and short blurb. Links will be reviewed for relevance and inclusion is subject to editorial approval.
Carefully review the announcement for accuracy, spelling, punctuation and grammar prior to submission. A $40 service fee will apply to requests for article modification after a submission has been published.
Each submission is considered on its own merit based on newsworthiness, reader interest and/or news of the day topics.
If your submission is accepted, it will generally be published within three business days of receipt; oftentimes, much sooner. In most instances, we will provide you with a link to the article so you will know how your submission was used. In addition, your submission will be published with appropriate attribution.
Please ensure that you submit your event announcements with enough lead time to ensure exposure in advance of event.
Due to high volumes of community submissions, we are unable to confirm receipt or provide notice of rejection of any submission.
