Alice Cooper’s Christmas Pudding
December 15 , 2004 by EditorFor the fourth year in a row, ALICE COOPER’s Annual Celebrity Christmas Fundraiser returns to Phoenix. The event will take place at the DODGE THEATRE on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18. The old-fashioned Dicken’s Christmas with a 21st century variety show twist is back. The event, which includes both musical and comedic performances, is set to begin at 7:30pm.
In addition to Alice Cooper and his band, musical performers include Rick Nielsen & Robin Zander from Cheap Trick, Glen Campbell, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers and Erin Kalinowski. Comedy performances include Tim & Mark from 93.3 KDKB. A special performance with the Destiny Dancers will also be featured. As in previous years, additional acts will continue to be announced. Stay tuned to 93.3 KDKB for updates. One of the evening’s infamous moments has become a tradition and will continue this year with the "Passing of the Pudding" compliments of Mark Tarbell of Tarbell’s Restaurant.
Alice Cooper is inviting local artists from all musical backgrounds to participate in the "Proof's in the Pudding" Talent Search. The winning artist/band will earn the opportunity to perform at this year's Christmas Pudding. Aspiring musicians (bands, soloists, instrumental groups, etc. of all genres) wanting to participate in the competition can fill out a registration form at Alice Cooper'stown Monday, Nov. 1 through Monday, Nov. 8. For additional information, please call Alice Cooper'stown at (602) 253-7337.
The net proceeds will benefit Solid Rock Foundation, a Christian non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to local organizations who help children & teenagers. To date, the foundation has given out almost $1,000,000. In 2003/04 along with the Navajo Christian Foundation, the Solid Rock Foundation was able to help build a Gym/Recreation Center in Dilkon, Arizona, 50 miles north of Winslow. Thanks to the magic and generosity of the Foundations, the youth in Dilkon now have a place to further not only their physical growth, but also their spiritual awareness.
