Tired of the typical chain store Italian venues? Ruffino Italian Cuisine, Ahwatukeee's oldest and most established restaurant, is family owned and operated, and each meal is guaranteed for your personal satisfaction.
At the spur of the moment, we chose Ruffino to dine for lunch. Dressed in summer casual attire, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and were seated in the dimly lit and formal dining room.
An attentive staff member arrived momentarily to bring us water and a basket of bread. We enjoyed soft classical music, as we browsed through the lunch menu. My companion inquired about ingredients and how a specific entre would be presented. Our server, formally dressed in a tuxedo was quite knowledgeable of the menu.
With lunch entree prices from $10.95 and up, and selections that range from lasagna to stuffed sole, Ruffino is priced affordably. Ruffino's fresh catch, caviar, lobster tails and crab legs are priced at market.I ordered the house specialty, Duck Ravioli and my companion ordered Shrimp Scampi. Our scrumptious and mouth watering meals arrived after a reasonable wait and were served piping hot.
Ruffino boasts of Old World ambiance and a staff unsurpassed in knowledge and service and we have to agree wholeheartedly.
While our entres were prepared, Ruffino owner Kevin Anolick stopped by our table and graciously greeted us, welcoming us to Ruffino as if we were members of his family. If you're looking for a quick Italian meal, Ruffino is not the place for you. Each entre is meticulously prepared from scratch. The food is well worth the wait and in our opinion, you will be treated to the best Italian food this side of Rome. Although we were immediately seated for lunch, we suggest reservations for dinner as Ruffino is quite popular among valley residents and winter visitors.
Ruffino offers daily wine tasting, live entertainment every Wednesday through Saturday night, happy hour Monday through Friday from 3:00-6:30 p.m., reverse happy hour Monday through Friday 10:30 p.m. until midnight, serving half price appetizers, and provides catering for private parties and banquet facilities.
