Still Smoking?
August 20 , 2004 by Donald RiceI know you are an intelligent person and you understand that thousands die every day from smoking or inhaling the smoke of others. There isn’t any doubt in your mind that you would be cleaner, healthier and wealthier if you stopped smoking this very moment.
How many times have others told you to stop smoking? Perhaps your loved ones have begged you to stop smoking or you have been asked to not smoke in a nice restaurant. I bet your doctor has told you again and again to stop smoking. There are even laws written to keep you from smoking in many areas and you still continue to smoke.
You know that if you stopped smoking now you could use the money saved to put a couple children through college, purchase a vacation home, buy a sports car, go on cruise or just save the thousands and thousands of dollars for retirement.
I’m not telling you anything new yet you still smoke don’t you?
Perhaps you think you are weak, dumb, or lazy. Well if you feel like that about yourself you are WRONG. Your intelligence level, will power, or energy level has no effect on your ability to stop smoking. Would you be surprised to learn that nicotine is not a strong addictive drug for you? You are not addicted to nicotine like many tell you. You have simply become a slave to a strong habit and every habit can be changed.
Think about what you say when talking about having a cigarette. Most people say it relaxes them, but research has shown that nicotine is a stimulant, not a relaxant. How can a stimulant relax you? The answer is it can’t, but the process of selecting a cigarette from the pack, putting it in your mouth, lighting the cigarette and drawing on it is calming.
If you want to continue smoking I feel that is your own personal business and has nothing to do with me. In fact, I support your right to smoke if you desire to do so. However, if you ask me to help you stop smoking then you and I will form a very strong team to kick the need to smoke out of your mind and replace those thoughts with healthy thoughts and positive feelings.
Thousands have stopped smoking in one hour while they rested comfortably in a recliner chair, listened to soothing music and simply enjoyed themselves. If you have been smoking for one, five, ten or even thirty years the desire to smoke will be gone in just one hour of safe comfortable relaxation. It’s not magic, but the results are like magic.
