City of Mesa hosts monthly Diversity Dialogue
June 15 , 2005 by Kathleen GordenThe City of Mesa's Diversity Office will host a Diversity Dialogue on Hate Crimes in the East Valley, noon – 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, at the Mesa Public Library Saguaro Room, 64 E. 1st St., in downtown Mesa.
Diversity Dialogues, monthly brown-bag lunch discussions about the people and issues that shape our community, are held on the third Tuesday of each month and are open to all.
Councilmember Mike Whalen will moderate the June 21 session. The scheduled speaker is Det. Matt Browning of the Mesa Police Department.
Det. Browning has been investigating hate crimes since 1996 and is currently the co-founder of the Skinhead Intelligence Network, a multi-state investigations network dealing with racially motivated crimes.
Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch and beverages will be provided.
