ACCLAIMED FILM CURATOR LECTURES IN SCOTTSDALE APRIL 4
March 28 , 2005 by EditorAs part of its ongoing "ARTiculations" series, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art presents a lecture by John G. Hanhardt, senior curator of film and media arts at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
Hanhardt's lecture, entitled "Re-Presenting Place: Reflections on the History of Film and Video Art," takes place at 7 p.m. April 4 in the Scottsdale Center for the Arts' Stage 2 Theater, 7380 East Second St.
Hanhardt will discuss the representation of landscape in film and video art, including the pioneering work of John Ford, Stan Brakhage, Nam June Paik, Bill Viola, and Isaac Julien.
