Chandler Gold Medal Run set for April 30
March 23 , 2005 by EditorChandler’s annual Gold Medal Run will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005, and offers fun and athletic challenges for people of all ages, no matter what their fitness levels.
The Fitness Forum Gold Medal Run will be held at Chandler’s Desert Breeze Park, and features a 5K Run, 5K In-Line Skate, 5K Wheelchair Race, 5K Fun Bike Ride (ages 10 and older), and a 5K Race-walk. There is also an Itty Bitty Run for kids 5-years-old and younger.
Check-in begins at 7 a.m. on race day, with the various events starting between 8 and 8:03 a.m. (Itty Bitty Run at 9 a.m.).
The entry fees for the Gold Medal Run are: $15 for adults who pre-register before April 22; $20 for adults who register after April 22; $8 for children 6-12 years old; and $5 for Itty Bitty Run participants age 5 and under.

Race entrants receive a free t-shirt, post-race refreshments and the opportunity to win raffle prizes. There will also be prizes for the top three finishers in several categories. Ribbons will be given to all Fun Bike and Itty Bitty Run participants.
Desert Breeze Park is at 660 N. Desert Breeze Blvd. in Chandler (between Ray Rd. and Chandler Blvd., and between McClintock & Rural roads).
The Gold Medal Run is presented by the Chandler Recreation Division and Fitness Forum.
