Tempe-Maricopa County issues to be discussed at March 29 taping of Let's Talk Tempe
March 23 , 2005 by EditorTempe Mayor Hugh Hallman and the Tempe City Council welcome the public to participate in the next taping of Let's Talk Tempe, where three distinguished Maricopa County leaders will discuss issues of interest to the city and county.
The mayor and council's guests will be Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock and Maricopa County School Superintendent Dr. Sandra E. Dowling. The forum will take place at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center, 655 E. Southern Avenue. Bagels, coffee and juice will be served beginning at 7 a.m.
The county officials will share their perspectives on important community topics, from schools to public safety. A primary issue to be discussed is the need to clean up and revitalize the 80-acre county island east of Scottsdale Road between Curry Road and the Loop 202 freeway.
Let's Talk Tempe is taped monthly in front of an audience of residents, business owners and other community members. It is replayed the following month on Tempe 11.
