An Afternoon with the Artist

The Scottsdale Public Art Program is seeking community feedback on the preliminary design for public artwork for the new stand alone Arabian Library. The art will be incorporated into the courtyard of the new library being built in McDowell Mountain Ranch Park at the intersection of Thompson Peak Parkway and McDowell Mountain Ranch Road.

About the Artist

Norie Sato is known for her public artworks which are based in the context and function of its site. They have been installed in Wisconsin, Iowa, Miami, Dallas and Seattle, where she lives. Her projects reflect many different types of facilities, from sewer pump stations to universities and civic facilities to airports and transit. She is currently also working on the Valley Metro Rail's Tempe segment as well as other projects around the country.
