FBR Open - Phoenix Open 2005
December 15 , 2004 by EditorThe 2005 FBR Open is just around the corner and Phoenix resident Jonathan Kaye will return to defend his title against the likes of Vijay Singh, Chris DiMarco and local favorites Phil Mickelson, Mark Calcavecchia and Tom Lehman.
The 2005 FBR Open is scheduled to take place at the beautiful TPC of Scottsdale January 31st through February 6th, 2005. Be a part of "The Greatest Show on Grass"
The 2005 edition will mark the 70th playing of the Open, and the second as the FBR Open, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA Tour. One look at the statistics reveals the tournament’s rich tradition and unparalleled excitement. One of the most memorable performances was turned in by three-time champion Mark Calcavecchia in 2001, when he shattered the all-time PGA Tour scoring mark, firing a second-round 60 on his way to a 28-under-par 256 total. Adding to the allure of the FBR Open are the largest galleries of any event on Tour—with spectator counts exceeding 400,000 every year.
