Diet Change Enhances Chances for Winning the Fight Against Cancer
February 06 , 2005 by Doctor FitnessNew breast cancer drugs are anti-fungal. Stop feeding the disease.
Breast cancer! Every woman lives in fear that during a physical exam she will be told that a mass was detected and further testing will be required. You schedule another appointment, go home, and wait.
You lose some sleep, suffer anxiety, or depression, all the things that we as humans experience when we face our humanity.
New meds are of interest
A number of interesting drugs have been introduced with anti-cancer or cancer prevention properties that are in the same category as anti-fungal medications. The latest being the triazole anti-fungal agent, anastrozole, or “Arimidex.”
According to reports, anastrozole clearly outperforms tamoxifen and should be the first choice of treatment for most women who have “had” the disease. The researchers suggest that anastrozole (Arimidex) might be able to prevent 70 to 80% of the most common form of tumors that occur in women after menopause.
The women who took anastrozole, as compared to the women who took tamoxifen, for five years after being treated for early stage breast cancer were less likely to have the cancer develop in the other breast or spread throughout the body.
The study involved 2,000 American women and another 7,300 from 20 other countries.
This is from an Associated Press story dated December 8, 2004.
Just one year ago
A little over one year ago, another drug, femara (generic name letrozole) showed it to may be more effective than tamoxifen in treating breast cancer.
Femara (letrazole) was approved for first line treatment in 2001 for women who had advanced breast cancer.
It, too, is an anti-fungal drug.
These drugs work by inhibiting aromatase. Aromatase is an enzyme involved in the production of estrogen. Subsequently inhibiting estrogen.
Hormones like estrogen lend growth factors to cancer/fungus.

I am very familiar with hormone inhibitors. One of the drugs used for advanced prostate cancer, ketoconazole, is the same drug often prescribed for Valley Fever.
I know this because I have disseminated (travels around the body) Valley Fever. Disseminated Valley fever only occurs in 1% of all those diagnosed with the disease. It is the kind that never goes away. Ketogonazole was one of the medication that were prescribed for me.
It is in the triazole group of drugs, such as itraconazole (Sporanox), fluconazole (Diflucan).
Both Arimedex and Letrozole are in the same class.
Both are being touted as breast cancer drugs.
Understanding all this, wouldn’t it make sense that maybe, just maybe, we should look at the fungal link?
All these drugs are anti-fungal, and some are being used in cancer treatment as highly effective medication.
Perhaps, then, wouldn’t the best treatment be to use anti-fungal drugs for all cancers? And wouldn’t a better treatment also include changing our diet and attitude, to a healthier one?
In the 1930’s, Nobel Prize winner, Otto Warburg, proved that cancer cells were anaerobic cells. They made energy in a very different way.
Try holding your breath. That is what it is like when your cells become anaerobic: they grasp for oxygen. Now, for how long can you hold your breath? 30 seconds? 2 minutes maybe?
I thought so.
Cancer cells are always holding their breath, never taking a breath, and they feel pretty nasty in the process. Most fungal cells are the same, so are most disease causing forms of bacteria and viruses.
Anaerobic cancer cells, only extract 5% of the available energy that normal cells get. Almost like driving a car that needs to have a tune up. The engine wastes fuel for lack of maintenance.
That is why 40% of cancer patients who die, die from cachexia, a form of wasting away from malnutrition.
Otto Warburg proved that, when he lowered oxygen levels down to around 65%, cancer cells formed in every case. He raised the levels back to normal and the cancer went away. Normal cells can burn fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Cancer cells only burn glucose/sugars/carbohydrates. They require sugars to survive. Without it, they die, just like fungal cells.
We also know that type 2 diabetic women have a higher incidence of cancer, in particular breast cancer. The common link is high blood sugar! High blood sugar decreases the risk of survival.
Could it be this simple?
Many researchers believe that cancer cells are opportunistic fungi and parasites, and that some herbs and high oxygen nutrition (pH) would be effective ways to combat cancer and fungal infections.
New studies have shown that heavy use of antibiotics increases the risk of cancers. While treating other infections, the cells that cause cancer may have become more resistant as well.
The same happens with cancer and chemo drugs.
The cells become resistant to the medication and are sometimes referred to as chemo resistant cancers. Studies show breast cancer increases with use of antibiotics.
I am not suggesting you skip your chemo. I am suggesting that you take charge of over which you have control: your eating and lack of activity.
Pharmaceutical companies are trying to do it with drugs
What you can do naturally, drugs companies are trying to do with drugs. New medications, like erbitux and avastin, when first introduced a few years ago, where touted as cures for cancer.
Imclones, “Erbitux”, prevented or inhibited the tumor from forming by blocking a protein. Genetechs, “Avastin,” prevented new blood vessels from forming.
By cutting off the blood supply, you cut off the food supply to the cancer cells. This will literally starve the cancer. (links to erbitux avastin)
What they are trying to do with drugs can be done with foods. At least I think so, if you get to the cancer in time. Least of all it most definitely will improve your chance of survival.
Nutrition does play a role. Natural things that can be done.
Recently we have heard a lot about an amazing new nutritional product derived from soybean, called nattokinase. Nattokinase actually is the by-product of fermentation using the bacillus subtilus and soy as the medium. What is left over has proven to be some pretty amazing stuff. Nattokinase dissolves fibrin and prevents tumor formation.
Another amazing natural product is avocado leaf extract (i.e mannoheptulose). Mannoheptulose inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates into glucose, by blocking the enzyme glucokinase. (link - mannoheptulose inhibits insulin )
A way to help!
Changing the diet to be lower glycemic, lower carb load and supplementing with specific herbs, vitamins and minerals, can greatly enhance chances of “Winning the War on Cancer.”
Why have we not been told more about these miraculous foods? Could it be that they can’t be patented and the drug companies stand to lose? If Americans only knew the truth...
