Mesa Parks and Recreation is looking for a few good seniors! Senior volunteers sought for “Golden Instructor” program
March 23 , 2005 by EditorThe City of Mesa Parks and Recreation’s Aquatics Program is seeking senior adults to assist lifeguards in teaching swim lessons to children in Mesa.
This successful second-year program enables seniors to help students receive more one-on-one attention as they learn and practice their swimming skills in Mesa’s summer learn-to-swim programs.
Additionally, seniors can choose to assist in competitive swim programs (such as swimming, diving and synchronized swimming) and water polo.
After initial training in April, volunteers can select their own schedule depending on availability. FREE training and t-shirts are provided to all volunteers.
