Chandler Road Closures/Restrictions:
February 19 , 2005 by EditorQUEEN CREEK ROAD: The planned closure of Queen Creek Road between McQueen Road and Airport Blvd. has been pushed back a week to Monday February 28 at 5:00 a.m. through Friday March 11 at 5 p.m. The closure is necessary to enable the tie-in of a new reclaimed water main at the intersection of McQueen and Queen Creek Roads. The closure was to have commenced on Monday February 21st, but is being pushed back so as not to conflict with another closure to occur a mile north on Pecos Road (see details in next paragraph).PECOS ROAD: Pecos Road will be closed between Arizona Avenue and Hamilton Street beginning Monday February 21 at 6 a.m. through Monday February 28 at 5 a.m. The closure is necessary to enable Union Pacific Railway to reconstruct their crossing east of Arizona Avenue as part of the City's project to widen Pecos Road in this location to six lanes from two lanes. In addition, SRP and the City will be performing utility work in the area.
ELLIOT ROAD: The repaving of Elliot Road between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Arizona Avenue will begin March 7, not February 21 as previously stated. The project is expected to last approximately four weeks and include the placement of 7,300 tons of asphalt. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times. Resurfacing will not have to occur at the intersections of Elliot/Dobson and Elliot/Alma School because these areas were repaved during recent intersection widening projects at those locations. Work will occur between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekend work possible.
