Official Spa of the Phoenix Suns Dancers Promises Fans Will Score With Valentine Game Plan

January 23 , 2005 by Kathleen Gorden

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- The Lamar Everyday Spa, the official spa of the Phoenix Suns Dancers, has a pretty good idea what women want. Their affiliation with The Suns has given them some insight into what men want as well. They are sharing this secret in an ad that features a Valentine gift certificate below the promise: How to maintain a scoring record that is the envy of everyone in your league”.

“We thought this direct approach was the best way to reach the guys,” laughs Heidi Lamar, the spa’s owner.  The full page ad will be distributed to 19,000 Suns fans at each of the 6 home games leading up to Valentines Day and will also be mailed to 85,000 Scottsdale and Paradise Valley homes in the “Value Clipper” magazine. Further proof that The Lamar understands the way to a man’s heart, the ad also includes a coupon for a free gourmet lunch with purchase of a spa package.

Whenever the Suns Dancers are on the court, The Lamar logo is displayed on the scoreboard and 360-degree LED ring, and the phone at the spa starts ringing. “A gentleman came in to buy a gift certificate for his wife on Christmas Eve” said Lamar, “ He told us he saw our logo at the game and wondered if we could make his wife look like a Suns Dancer. We promised him we would treat her like one!”

Would-be Romeos may want to consider “The Trip For Two” package, which includes a romantic side-by-side massage in the new couple’s suite along with facials and body wraps for two. The spa, which is entirely co-ed includes a dry sauna, steam room, outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool & complimentary herbal tea and fruit bar. Those who have appointments on Valentines Day will also be treated to flowers & chocolate.

“We are seeing more and more men in the spa and they seem to enjoy the pampering as much as the women do,” said Lamar. “ We would like to think they are here because they heard how great our therapists are, but they might also be hoping to catch a glimpse of the Suns Dancers!”

Located at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Vista, just north of The Scottsdale Fashion Square, The Lamar Everyday Spa is open 7 days per week.
