Tempe Leadership recruits members for Class 21
January 14 , 2005 by EditorTempe Leadership is looking for emerging leaders who live or work in Tempe to participate in the upcoming class. A recruitment reception will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Edward Jones, 8333 S. River Pkwy., Tempe. Applications are available at www.tempeleadership.org <http://www.tempeleadership.org/> and are due by March 31.
Tempe Leadership identifies emerging leaders and fosters leadership skills through education, experience, exposure and service to the community in order to sustain qualified residents, employees and leaders for the future of the Tempe community.
"Tempe Leadership has been in the business of developing community leaders for more than 20 years," Tempe Leadership board president Shana Ellis said. "We have more than 400 alumni, including people from all walks of life who are putting their leadership skills to work in a wide variety of areas in the community."
Tempe Leadership, which is sponsored by the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, is a nine-month program that teaches participants about the strengths, needs and challenges facing Tempe. Each class consists of a diverse group of individuals from a variety of businesses, non-profit organizations, government and education institutions, as well as community volunteers.
