Parent Teacher Association Thinks Out-Of-The-Box To Raise Money For School
September 26 , 2007 by EditorTEMPE, AZ – The Hudson Elementary School PTA has been a very active association for several years and is now bringing school fundraising to another level. On Monday September 17, 2007 the PTA Board has moved to partner with the Symphony of the Southwest, formerly Mesa Symphony Orchestra to create a unique, creative and educational fundraiser. The Hudson PTA now sells individual tickets to the Symphony of the Southwest concerts in order to collect more than 35% of the sales price as a fundraiser.
Furthermore, in order to render the offer more interesting to the public tickets are offered to the public at a price reduced by up to 20%. The PTA has until October 16, 2007 to sell as many tickets as possible. Only available through the Hudson PTA this offer is going home with each Hudson student. However, anyone who is interested in purchasing their symphony tickets through this offer are encouraged to contact Hudson school at 480-897-6608
“We really think this fundraiser will be an efficient one. It differs from the classic cookie dough and catalog sales that we do every year and it is very educational and beneficial for the participants.” says Mark Kennedy, Treasurer and past-president of the PTA Board. “Music is a very important art at Hudson and we are glad our children will be able to get involved with the Symphony of the Southwest,” added Andy Gutierrez, president of the PTA. The Symphony is engaging with the school and offers an interesting incentive for the parents and students to get involved. Whoever sells five or more tickets through this program will be invited to attend one Symphony of the Southwest dress rehearsal of their choice in the Ikeda Theater of the Mesa Arts Center.
“We are very proud of our recent accomplishments and profoundly grateful to our supporters for their loyalty and generosity. Because of them, we are here today as a vibrant and growing ensemble and we look forward to continuing to enrich lives and engage with valley communities for decades to come,” says Skip Carney, SSW board of directors’ president.
SSW season opening is on October 27, 2007 at 8:00 PM at the Mesa Arts Center, Ikeda Theater.
