Town of Cave Creek and Cahava Springs Developer working together to Create Upgraded Water System for Town

July 25 , 2007 by Editor

After the Town of Cave Creek purchased Cave Creek Water Company from Global Water this past spring, one of its primary goals was to make sure that the system provided the best level of service to all residents and provided for future growth. The existing system did not serve all residents, many of whom were utilizing wells or hauling water to their properties.

At the same time the Town was negotiating with Global, developers were planning the recently approved Cahava Springs community in the far north portion of Cave Creek. The Town and the much anticipated Cahava Springs development are now working together on designing an upgrade to the water system.  The Town’s goal is to serve all residents on the west side of Cave Creek as well as designing the system for future growth.

Pyramid Community Developers, the master plan developers of the 942-acre Cahava Springs, recently agreed to reschedule construction start date to the end of August 2007 to ensure that all improvements to the water system coincide with the building of the first phase.  Plans call for enlarging the distribution line and storage tank so that both will have the capacity to serve more than Cahava Springs residents. Previously Global only required the developers to design and build a system for Cahava Springs. Since purchasing the water company, the Town has asked Pyramid CS Dev. Co. to work with Town engineers to increase the capacity of the system.

The low density Cahava Springs community will include  230 large custom home sites carefully placed on 942 acres, because of a spring, the area is rich in culture and natural resources, and the plan preserves a very sensitive riparian area and over 80% of the pristine property.
