September 19 , 2004 by Kathleen Gorden

Mike MasoodFrom the time he was born Mike Masood was destined to be in the health and fitness industry. As the son of a physical education teacher, Mike has been active his entire life. Mike began participating in organized sports at the age of 5. Those sports included football, baseball, basketball, track and golf. Mike started playing rugby in college and recently retired after 18 years.

Mike’s professional involvement in health and fitness began over 15 years ago. He graduated from Salisbury State University, Salisbury, MD with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. Mike taught elementary and middle school physical education classes and coached at the high school level. While teaching and coaching Mike recognized the need for America’s youth to not only become more active, but to have the knowledge to do so correctly. Mike began personal training in 1994 by becoming an ACE certified personal trainer. In 1995 Mike decided to make a full time transition into personal training.

Due to Mike’s teaching and coaching background, the majority of his clients were people between the ages of 8 to 18. As his clients showed dramatic progress their parents and other adults started to take notice. Mike’s clientele grew and so did his knowledge and experience in the field of health and fitness. Mike has had experience training everyone from pre-operative patients to professional athletes.

Mike offers a variety of training concepts that include the following: general conditioning, sports specific training, weight management, pre-operative conditioning, post rehabilitative training, flexibility training and youth and adolescent training.

Mike works as a personal trainer for The Sanctuary in Paradise Valley.  Contact Mika via email at fitness@evliving.com.
