The Basic directory level displays your business name, address and phone number. Register for your FREE business listing today! Business Directory Benefits to registration in the business directory The business directory is search engine friendly. As such, directory listings are picked up by the major search engines and will likely be displayed somewhere in search results for your company name. If you are a small business with or without a website; with or without a marketing budget, a directory listing can provide you with added exposure and the potential for business that you might not otherwise receive. The business directory is marketed and heavily promoted nationwide to increase its value to members and website visitors. As a result of these efforts, there is a high volume of traffic to the directory. Benefits to upgrading your listing We encourage you to compare our directory level options, accessible from the directory menu. There is a level of affordability for every business. Depending on the level of upgrade you select, an upgraded listing provides a map to your location plus additional listing features such as: . Fax . Contact person . Email link . www link . Greater description capabilities . Upload logo to display inside listing . Upload banner which randomly rotates throughout the directory . Upload image ad which randomly rotates in left and right sidebars . Listing title and a portion of the description randomly displays in sidebars in Featured Listing area . Add Menu of Services or Products including images, which will randomly display in the Products area in the sidebar In comparison to similar business directories available in the U.S., you will find our directory upgrade pricing is among the most competitive in the nation. Registration Who can register? Any lawful U.S.-based association, business, consultancy, organization or sole proproprietor can register for an account and submit a listing for inclusion in this directory. What are the restrictions? 1. Businesses that appear to sell products or provide services that may be objectionable to most audiences, or are obviously sexual in nature, illegal or immoral will be declined. We recognize that some businesses offer services or sell products targeted to an adults-only audience. We believe we provide fair service and will therefore assess each business submission on its own merit. 2. If you are a web-based business or directory provider doing business as the name of your domain, you may list your business in this directory. Be aware that URL's are not permitted in the listing title, address, city, or phone text fields. You will need to provide spaces between each word in your domain as your listing title and not display the URL extensions, such as .com, .org, .net, .biz, .us, etc. 3. Additionally, we do not permit the sneaky insertion of a URL after listing approval by utilizing a play on the words contained in the domain name or URL into text fields, for example: This Business Directory dot com, or My Business Directory.com, etc. We provide a FREE service to businesses and expect a level playing field for all directory listing levels, free or upgraded. If you wish to display your URL with your listing, we have affordable solutions in the form of a directory upgrade. When does my business listing expire? The free, basic listing never expires. Upgrades can be purchased for a period of one year. How do I register my business? Register for a user account first, then add your listing. You are free to complete only the required fields of your profle at the time of registration. The balance of the profile is optional and you may modify the user details once your registration email address has been confirmed and you are able to log in. We strongly suggest that you complete your profile in its entirety in order to properly identify yourself should you need our assistance. Incomplete profiles will make it difficult for us to provide support to you. After your registration process is complete and email address has been confirmed, you may submit a business listing. Your listing will not become public until it has passed administrative review. Before submitting your listing If you do not yet have a user account, you need to first register for an account. You can use the Submit Listing link provided in the Menu to set up your account. To protect the integrity of this directory, email addresses must be confirmed prior to submitting a business listing. Once your email address has been confirmed you may log in to your account and submit your listing details. Your listing will then be placed in the queue for administrative review. Why is there an administrative review process? To ensure that directory listings are relevant at the time of approval, a member of our staff personally reviews all submitted listings prior to inclusion in the directory . The more information provided in the profile and listing, the easier our job and the sooner we can process the submission for possible approval. If the submission does not list an address or other verifiable information, we may check with directory assistance to confirm the phone number or we may perform an online search using any or all of the major search engines, access a variety of online directories, news, wire services and trade associations to find a reference to the submitted business in an effort to verify the anthenticity of a directory submission We recognize that many small businesses have no references on the Internet and that is why they are registering for a directory listing -- in order to gain some exposure. In the event we are unable to find any external references to a submitted business, we will simply call the registrant to confirm the phone number is valid. What is Listing Title? The listing title field on the Submit Listing form is intended for the name of your business. Please do not place the type of business or description here. This will delay approval of your listing while we communicate with you via email. The category choice and desciription field is for this purpose. Should the directory level you select not include a description field, you must upgrade your listing to display a description. Three of four levels currently offer descriptions. One of those three is free (with reciprocal link to the directory). Error Message: Listing Title If you are a web-based business or directory provider doing business as the name of your domain, you may list your business in this directory but you may experience difficulty with your listing title. Be aware that URL's are not permitted in the listing title or other text fields of your listing. You will need to provide spaces between each word in your domain as your listing title and not use URL extensions such as .com, .org, .net, .biz, .us, etc. Error Message: Requires Reciprocal Link If you have selected the second free membership level for your listing, you must provide a link back to this directory. The error message occurs when our program tests your URL to ensure compliance. Simply add the link to our directory to your website and you will not receive this error. Be aware that our program tests your website throughout term of your listing. If you are not in compliance during this period, your listing is subject to removal. Do I have to list my address inside my business listing? No. We recognize that many businesses may be home based and addresses may not be appropriate or relevant. Your physical address is not required as a condition for listing approval, however we believe your listing will attract more business if you list your address or POB/PMB in your listing details. I conduct business nationwide, why is my city, state and zip code required fields? Many visitors to the directory perform searches for businesses located near them. City, state and zip codes are required fields to give your business an opporunity to display in the directory search results. I cannot find the right business category for my listing We have an extensive list of categories and subcategories. Sometimes a specific category can be missed by the user at the time of listing submission and an appropriate category actually exists. The category list can be cumbersome to scroll through. You may wish to refer to the Site Map link located in the Navigation Menu for a complete list of existing categories. If you do not find an appropriate category for your business, please submit your listing under a general business category that comes close to the type of business you have. Upon approval of your listing submission, you may then suggest the addition of new categories for our consideration. Listing Guidelines What are violations of terms of service? Terms of Service link is found in the Navigation Menu. Short list: - Change of business name after listing approval; - Use of profanity, hateful or vulgar terms within listing description or other text fields; - Nudity, offensive, suggestive or violent images; - Insertion of keyboard characters at front of business name for purpose of increasing alphabetical position; - URL's in the listing title or any text fields - this includes the sneaky insertion of a URL after approval by utilizing a play on the words contained in the domain name or URL, for example: Business Directory dot com BusinessDirectory.com We have zero tolerance for users who abuse our terms of service. Once we learn a user has abused directory privileges, their registration will be deleted, their IP address and/or URL will be permanently banned, with no questions asked. Manage Your Account Manage your listing and user details Once your listing has been approved, you are free to log in to your account and make changes to your business listing and user details. If you are unsure as to whether a change you intend to make is in violation of the terms of service, please inquire rather than risk loss of your directory privileges. In short, we do not permit: a. addition of any keyboard character to the front of your listing name/title that might cause your listing to display higher alphabetically; b. adding or appending a business desciption to business listing title or in text fields not otherwise labeled description; c. adding a URL to any text field of your listing, free or upgraded level. Should you have a need to give your business an added boost, we have affordable options available: 1) You may upgrade your listing at any time; 2) You may inquire about custom advertising packages that will give you added exposure within this directory; 3) You may inquire about our marketing solutions. Manage your listing - Upgraded level Once your upgrade has been approved, you are free to log in to your account and and make changes to your business listing such as change category, address, phone, and user details. In addition, you will be allowed to upload Logo; Banner; Image; Products; Documents as allowed by the directory level for which you upgraded. Can I add my own business category? Adding a category is an administrative function. We are more than happy to consider adding a business category of your suggestion. Once your listing has been approved, you may request a new category by replying to our approval confirmation email or you may use the convenient Contact Us form in the Menu on this page. We will review the category request and you will be notified of our decision via reply email. If category is approved and added, you can then log in to your account to change the category for your listing. Can you upload my images for me? Yes, however we ask that you first attempt to upload the images yourself. The process is fairly user friendly, and any error message you may encounter defines precisely what is wrong or what is needed. If you are still unable to upload your images, please inquire about our image upload or resize service using our Contact Us form. A service fee will apply. Forgotten username or password If you have forgotten your username or password, please visit the Password Reminder link on the Log In page. Input the Username or Email Address you used to register and depress the Submit button. For security, an email will be sent to confirm whether you authorized a change to your password. Once confirmed, the password will be reset and you will receive your username and an auto-generated password by email. You may then log in to your account and can change the password. I don't have a record of my user name or know which email address I used to register If resetting the password on the log in page does not provide you with access to your account, please do not dispair. Our directory has been online since 2002. We understand that businesses or their employees can misplace the records associated with their business listing. We are happy to assist you. Please use the Contact Us form to appraise us of your unique situation. What if I forget to renew my upgrade? For your convenience, about 10 days prior to the expiration of your upgraded business listing, you will be sent a notification e-mail to remind you that your listing is set up expire. You will receive another notice at expiration. At expiration, if upgrade is not renewed, the listing is placed in administrative pending status, where our staff will re-review the listing. Once approved, the listing will display at the Basic directory level which displays limited information about your business. If you forget to renew, your user account still exists and you may upgrade at any time. Simply log in to your account and click on the listing to be upgraded and follow payment instructions. How do I find the reports to show me how often my listing is accessed? Listing statistics are provided for both free and upgraded directory listings. Log in to your account and select the view/edit link under Listings, then scroll down the page to view the stats. Stats display the following information: Banner exposures Banner Hits Banner CTR Hits Website Messages received Product Hits Reviews For free basic listing, the only area that will display numbers will be Hits which is the number of times the listing has been accessed. I want to delete my listing You are free to delete your listing at any time. Simply log in to your account and select the delete listing link. Payment What forms of payment do you accept? For your convenience, most major credit cards are accepted. Imprinted personal or business checks are also accepted, however your listing activation will be delayed until the check clears your bank. To avoid delay, we suggest that you use credit card or send a money order or cashiers check. Is my credit card payment secure? Yes. We use Pay Pal as our preferred vendor to process online payments because Pay Pal is recognized worldwide as safe and secure. Pay Pal does not require membership to process a transaction. Once you have entered into a sales transaction, you will be directed into the Pay Pal payment processing page. Locate and click the link that indicates you do not have a Pay Pal account. Your payment will be processed without registering for an account. Whether you are a Pay Pal member or not, your transaction will be processed in confidence on a secure Pay Pal web page, without exposing your financial details to us. As with all online transactions, we admonish you to practice safe "hex" -- prior to entering your credit card information for any transaction on any website, please take a quick look to ensure your browser address bar displays "https" before the web address and shows a "lock" symbol near the bottom of the browser window. Who should I pay for directory upgrades or advertising? Transactions are payable to Gorden Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of AZhttp, Inc. Should you pay by credit card, your credit card statement will reflect PAYPAL: EVLivingcom so you can readily identify the charge. We reserve the right to decline a listing upgrade for any reason. If a payment has been made for an upgrade that is not suitable for this publication, a refund will be processed for any monies paid. Report Abuse/Invalid Listing One of your listings is inappropriate We sincerely hope this scenario never occurs. We have certain safeguards in place and our staff also monitors the directory. Unfortunately, even with the latest in security measures in place, it is possible for a determined few to abuse their listing privileges. Use of profanity, hateful or vulgar terms within listing description or other text fields, nudity, offensive, suggestive or violent images among the violations of our terms of service. Should you encounter an inappropriate listing, please let us know so we can investigate the matter immediately. From the listing itself, you can click on the Report Abuse/Invalid Listing link and that will automatically add the listing's information into our Contact Us form. If you are no longer viewing the listing, have lost the listing information, or do not know the complete name of the business, please use our Contact Us form and provide us with as much information as you recall that might help us identify the listing. Business listing is not valid Businesses may relocate and/or change their phone number and overlook updating their listing in the process, or a business can close and neglect to delete their listing. Our staff performs random business listing checks to ensure our listings are up-to-date, however, businesses can change overnight and it is not possible to catch all business listing changes as soon as they happen. Should you find an error in a listing or believe a listing to be invalid, please use the Report Abuse/Invalid Listing from the listing itself. You may also use the Contact Us form to bring it to our attention. Please provide as much detail as possible to help us identify the listing. I think someone else has registered my business If you suspect that an unauthorized person registered your business in this directory for the purpose of capturing your leads, please use the Report Abuse link within the directory listing.
