Smiles for Diamondback game — Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres

Help bring a smile to a child’s face. For every ticket purchased for the
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres game on Saturday, Sept. 26 a portion will go towards Give Kids a Smile care program. Give Kids a Smile care program provides free dental care to underserved children in the
valley. Students and faculty at A.T. Still Arizona School of Dental and Oral Health along with dentists from the Arizona Dental Association provide basic dental services to children including cleanings, fillings, dental education, and more complex procedures, all at no charge.

Last April, ATSU-ASDOH held the single largest Give Kids a Smile event in the state in the number of children treated, value of services provided, and volunteer participation. The money raised from ticket sales at the Sept. 26 Diamondbacks game will help pay for Give Kids a Smile patients needing comprehensive follow-up care.

“This fundraiser will continue to help A.T. Stills dental clinic with the treatment of their patients” District 5 Councilmember Dina Higgins said. “The clinic offers a vital service to our community and the City is glad to be partnering with A.T. Still University for this event.”

“Statistics show that 31 percent of Arizona children have never seen a dentist and 38 percent do not have dental insurance” District 6 Councilmember Scott Somers said. “The clinic is a great way for children to receive the necessary dental care they otherwise would not be able to afford.”

Discounted tickets can be purchased through http://www.dbacks.com/smile. ID login is smile and the password is dbacks. The game starts at 5:10 p.m. at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

About A.T. Stills University Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health

The mission of the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health is to educate caring, technologically adept dentists who become community and educational leaders serving those in need, and:

• to be the leader in the lifelong education of community responsive general dentists
• to prepare graduates with a strong foundation of critical inquiry, evidence-based practice, research, cultural competency, an orientation to prevention, and interdisciplinary healthcare experiences
• to promote the delivery of optimal patient care and for the transfer of newly acquired knowledge, skills, and technology to the profession and to the community

About Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health Clinic

Unlike other dental clinics or dental franchises, our clinic is part of a dental teaching institution, the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. We offer a range of dental services like many private dental offices; in fact, our faculty’s expertise and available technology actually allows us to offer more services than many clinics.

We offer child and infant dental care, dental care for special needs patients, (i.e. patients with disabilities), and advanced surgical and non-surgical treatment options many clinics aren’t equipped or qualified to offer. The Dental Clinic has cared for more than 6,000 patients and our dental emergency service regularly sees between 10 and 15 patients per day. We currently provide compassionate care to approximately 300 patients every week.
