Tempe Launches Online Newsroom, Social Media Tools
June 19, 2009 · Published By Admin
Tempe, Arizona – Tempe has launched an online hub for all city-related news: www.tempe.gov/newsroom. Residents and media alike can visit the page regularly for updates on Tempe happenings.
Video and downloadable photos are accessible via the site, along with the city’s latest press releases and links to information from Tempe’s partner organizations like the Downtown Tempe Community and Tempe Convention and Visitors Bureau. The newsroom also links to Tempe 11, the city’s cable channel. Tempe 11’s own Web page is under construction and will soon include an extensive video-on-demand feature.
The newsroom serves as a home for Tempe’s social media tools, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Community members are encouraged to sign up to follow Tempe using any of these tools, so they can access even more up-to-the minute information.
In addition, visitors to the newsroom can sign up for the city’s many e-mail news subscription options in the subject matter areas that most interest them. Tempe never sells or externally distributes its e-mail subscription lists.
The city welcomes feedback about the newsroom. To let us know your thoughts, please contact Communication and Media Relations Director Nikki Ripley at 480-350-8846 or via e-mail at nikki_ripley@tempe.gov.
