The Arizona Department of Transportation plans to close Rural Road in Tempe (called Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale) in both directions at the Loop 202 Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday, March 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, March 23, for a freeway widening project. The Loop 202 on- and off-ramps at Scottsdale Road also will be closed. The recommended alternative route will be McClintock Drive (known as Hayden Road in Scottsdale).
Lane restrictions in all directions will take place at the Shea Boulevard/Hayden Road intersection from sunrise to sunset daily starting Monday, March 23, through roughly August. The restrictions will permit a variety of road improvements, including construction of dual left-turn lanes and right-turn deceleration lanes.
An 800-foot segment of Miller Road between Roosevelt Street and McDowell Road is closed to all traffic to accommodate construction of a sewer line. As part of this project, the intersection of Miller Road and Roosevelt Street will be completely closed to traffic starting Monday, March 23, through April 1.
