Washing Dishes and Dating
Back when my wife and I first started dating, I called my mother and announced excitedly that I had just met the woman of my dreams, and asked her help in what I should do now. She had an idea and suggested, “Why don’t you send her flowers, and on the card invite her to your apartment for a home-cooked meal?”
I remember thinking at the time, that this was one hell of an idea and great strategy in getting her into my pad and hopefully, heh heh, maybe more?
Wonders never cease, and a week later, my soon-to-be wife came to dinner.
My mom called the next day to see how things had gone.
“I was totally humiliated,” I complained. “She insisted on washing the dishes.”
“What was wrong with that?” my mom commented, encouragingly.
“We hadn’t started eating yet,” I said
