Spotlight On Upcoming Special Events
TRC Hosts Spring Break Health Fair
The Tumbleweed Recreation Center is hosting a Spring Break Health & Wellness Fair on Thursday, March 19 from 4-7 p.m. in the TRC Courtyard. This inaugural event will feature a variety of vendors from local businesses in the sports, media, health, wellness and fitness industries sharing informational materials and samples of their products and services.
Two Pools Open Spring Break
Chandler’s Hamilton and Mesquite Groves Aquatic Centers will be open for water play and recreational swimming during the spring intersession break for the Chandler Unified School District. for a complete list of dates and hours, go to www.chandleraz.gov/aquatics. And you can also sign up for spring swimming lessons and other programs online. For details, check out the spring Break Time, pages 18-26.
Water Safety Awareness Day on March 14
The Hamilton Aquatic Center will host the City’s annual Water Safety Awareness Day on Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is free, and attendees can enter a raffle for a chance to win a voucher for free swimming lessons and other prizes (must be present to win). There will also be games, free popcorn, a water safety coloring activity, and a Chandler Fire Department display.
Chandler Ostrich Festival and Parade
MLB Pitch, Hit and Run on March 7 Saturday, March 7, 8 a.m. – noon at Folley Park – For boys and girls ages 6-15. Register on-line at www.chandleraz.gov/youth-sports or at Folley Park on the day of event. Registration fee is $4.
Chandler Senior Variety Show
The Chandler Senior Center will host its annual Senior Variety Show at the Chandler Center for the Arts on Wed., March 11 at 2 p.m., Thurs., March 12 at 2 p.m. and Fri., March 13 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and available at the Senior Center, Gilbert Senior Center and Chandler Center for the Arts. This is an all-ages guided walk from 8-11 a.m. on the Paseo Trail
along the Consolidated Canal and lead by the City’s Assistant Naturalist.
