Leaders In Training Program for teens age 14-16
If you are between 14 and 16 years old and looking for something to do this summer, check out out LIT Program. We place teens in an actual work environments within the City of Chandler so they may assist and shadow adult mentors. Teens also attend job skill development workshops presented by members of the local business and government community. The goal of this program is to provide teens an opportunity to explore various careers within the city and to become better prepared to enter the work force. Open Houses hosted by the EEC
On the second Tuesday night of each month this spring (March 10, April 14, May 12), the Environmental Education Center will offer a number of fun and FREE nature-based activities for people of all ages during an open house from 5-7:45 p.m. Activities will change each month and may include crafts, hikes, movies, stories, music, and science labs. Registration is not required; just stop on by and join the fun! The EEC is on the northeast corner of Chandler Heights Rd. and Lindsay Rd. Family Birdwalk hosted by the EEC
Saturday, March 7 from 8 a.m. to Noon.
On the first Saturday or each month (October-March), volunteers from the Desert Rivers Audubon Society will lead guided birdwalks through Veterans Oasis Park. Birdwalks depart from the EEC about every 30 minutes, and free loaner binoculars will be provided (or bring your own). This program is free but does require pre-registration. Participants will observe the many species of birds that populate central Arizona’s desert and wetland habitats. This is a great way for the entire family to enjoy nature together! Chandler Tennis Center
