There is nothing quite like a barbecue for your Fourth of July picnic and hamburgers are a traditional staple of that meal, along with hot dogs, broccoli salad, macaroni salad, cucumber salad, and potato salad.
From World Famous Recipes we bring you a couple of Recipes for Hamburgers that caught our eye. One is traditional and one is quite a spicy dish.
For an especially hot summer treat we have this mouth-burning concoction:
Heatwave Hamburgers
Ingredients;
2 1/2 pounds ground beef
4 tablespoons garlic powder
4 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons onion flakes
2 dried ground tabasco peppers
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Make patties, and grill over a hickory wood fire until done.

And this recipe is for a more traditional sweet tasting barbecued burger:
Barbecue Hamburger Patties Recipes
ingredients for 6 servings:
1 1/2 lb Ground Beef
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Chili Sauce
1 tb Lemon Juice
1/3 c Catsup
2 tb Brown Sugar
Preparation: mix the meat, onion, and salt together. Shape the
mixture into 6 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick. Brown the patties
in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning once. Cover and
cook over low heat about 10 minutes. Drain off the excess fat. Mix
catsup, chili sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Pour sauce over
the patties. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, spooning the sauce onto
the patties occasionally. Serve with the sauce spooned over the
patties.
