Mother’s Day Article – A Mother’s Role is Timeless

What is a Mommy?  Mommies are long silk stockings and high-heeled shoes and girdles that lace up the back; they’re powder and sweet perfume, a soft caress and a kiss for feelings that are hurt.  Mommies insist on scrubbing behind ears, brushing teeth and putting clothes away.

Mommies are Scout leaders, Soccer Mom’s, Room Mothers and Sunday School Teachers; they sing in the choir, chaperone parties, wait up for you at night, nurse you through acne and still have time to make your clothes.

Mommies are sweet and soft, but firm when saying No!  They’re nice to cuddle up to when you’re scared at night and see a jungle of weird shadows in your room or when you’ve just been stood up for the first time.
