Monica Edwards & Kevin Wick, Attorneys, Davis Miles, PLLC: Presenters will discuss how business owners can structure their businesses to minimize the risk of exposure to rogue creditors. The goal of an asset protection plan addresses all of a business’s assets, suggests ways to contain liabilities, and allows for changes of circumstances. The presenters will also provide an overview of sources of potential risks.
Tyson Cook, Financial Planner, Cook Financial Group: Cook Financial Group is a third generation family business. The presenter, his father and grandfather have each been in the top 5% of the financial advisors in their industry. In these difficult economic times, how can small businesses build wealth? The presenter will discuss strategies to create wealth, protect a business’s assets and plan for the future.
Nelson Mitchell, Coordinator, MCbiz: Presenter will provide oversight about how businesses can get registered and certified to provide goods and services to County departments and agencies through the County’s procurement system. Special attention will be given to small businesses that want to expand their base of customers to the County commodity buyers but are unsure about the requirements or who to call for advice. MCbiz is a year-old program to facilitate growth of small businesses.
