Eagle Scout offers residents assistance with picking citrus
TEMPE, Ariz. – A Tempe boy seeking his Eagle Scout designation has taken on a community service project to help elderly and disabled residents with harvesting citrus trees. The boy is available Sunday, April 20, to pick citrus trees for a limited number of Tempe residents for whom the project would be difficult or not possible. Picking citrus when it is ripe helps the entire community by not encouraging the proliferation of roof rats, which feed on citrus that has fallen to the ground.
To take advantage of this service, call Mary Anna Bastin 480-350-5190.
