French Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes

Cake Mate congratulates Prescott-area resident Catherine Wilkinson for winning the Mother of All Bakes Sales with her recipe “French Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes.” Wilkinson is one of five amateur bakers from across the country to win a $1,000 cash prize for her scrumptious recipe.
And, to honor the true spirit of bake sales, Cake Mate will also donate $1,000 to the winner’s favorite charity. Wilkinson chose Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, the national wish-granting charity based in Phoenix, Ariz., that creates amazing experiences for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Last fall Cake Mate set out to find extraordinary bakers, like Wilkinson, for the Mother of All Bake Sales competition with the help of bake sale expert Barbara Grunes, author of “The Best Bake Sale Ever.” Grunes discovered five creative cooks with recipes that are sure to result in a sweet sell out at any bake sale.

Cupcakes
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated white sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 teaspoons baking power
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
¼ cup whipping cream
