Phoenix Residents Invited to Free Neighborhood Legislative Workshop

If you would like to learn more about the state legislative process and how it affects neighborhoods, plan to attend the Northwest Phoenix Neighborhood Legislative Workshop 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Deer Valley Community Center, Multipurpose Room, 2001 W. Wahalla Lane.The workshop will present an overview of the state legislative process and how to become involved in decisions being made at the State Legislature, tips on effective lobbying techniques and information on how to use technology to track legislation. In addition, several state lawmakers will attend the event to give their perspective and answer questions.The free event is sponsored by the city of Phoenix Intergovernmental Programs Office to help demystify the lobbying process and encourage public involvement from neighborhood groups and residents in the creation of public policy.
Two similar workshops also are planned for February and March in northeast Phoenix and southwest Phoenix.To register for the free workshop, visit phoenix.gov/intergov or call 602-256-4257. Light refreshments will be served.
