Scottsdale Healthcare Marks Community Health Improvement Week with Free Events

Free children’s immunizations, presentations and information spotlight activities, June 4-11
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Scottsdale Healthcare will celebrate National Community Health Improvement Week June 4-11 with free public events and activities to help residents of all ages boost their health and well-being.The Northeast Valley’s only nonprofit, community-based hospital system, Scottsdale Healthcare will offer:
- Free children’s immunization clinic
Sat., June 4, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
Scottsdale Healthcare Community Health Office, 3634 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Suite 100, Scottsdale
The clinic is open for all children to ensure preventive vaccinations are up-to-date, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Immunizations comply with standards for pediatric immunization recommended by the National Vaccine Advisory Council and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Vaccines are supplied through the Arizona Vaccines for Children Program. A parent or guardian must accompany each child to sign a permit. Parents also should bring each child’s immunization records. Registration is not required.
- Healthy Summer Salads
Thurs., June 9, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital
7400 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale
During this free event, attendees will learn how to make and serve several cool summer salads, as well as enjoy a delicious taste testing. A brief presentation also will highlight Scottsdale Healthcare’s free programs aimed at improving our community’s health.

Fit City daily updates on Facebook
New information will be posted daily on the Fit City Scottsdale Facebook page (go to Facebook.com and search Fit City Scottsdale) on health topics that impact our community: smoking cessation, sleep, sun health, hydration, obesity, blood pressure and immunizations. Information on Scottsdale Healthcare’s community programs that address these important topics also will be spotlighted.
Presented by Scottsdale Healthcare, Fit City Scottsdale is an initiative aimed at making Scottsdale the fittest city in the nation. The program provides a resource for activities and information as well as signature events sponsored to promote a healthy lifestyle within our community. The Fit City Scottsdale website, http://www.fitcityscottsdale.org/, is a clearinghouse for upcoming events that can help adults and children keep active and healthy.
