Clark-Schuldmann Duo Perform “A Chopin Cornucopia” at Kerr Cultural Center

Celebrating Chopin’s birthday, Harry Clark and Sanda Schuldman Perform at ASU Kerr Cultural Center

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Arizona State University Kerr Cultural Center is proud to present the second of three performances in the Rhythms of Life Series presented by Chamber Music PLUS. Concerts will be held at ASU Kerr located on Scottsdale Road, north of McDonald Drive off of Rose Lane. Tickets are $25/$30 and children, students, senior and group rates are available. Celebrating Frederic Chopin’s 200th birthday, Harry Clark and Sanda Schuldmann will perform his masterpieces on Friday, February 19, 2010. “A Chopin Cornucopia” will feature Clark and Schuldmann reading letters and reminiscences of Chopin’s friends and colleagues between musical selections on the piano and cello.

Chamber Music Plus is a nationally recognized organization that creates and presents original works combining theater, classical music, and visuals. Managed by the artists, the organization produces the highest education and entertainment, offering a deeper experience in art participation. With a reputation for cutting-edge, adventuresome programming, Chamber Music PLUS creates, presents, and maintains over thirty original works in its current repertory. Working with the finest musicians, actors, directors, composers, and visual artists, this body of work has redefined the classical music concert-going experience.

Upcoming performances in the Rhythm’s of Life Series with “A Rare Pattern” on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 8 p.m., featuring actress Margot Kider, soprano Jennifer Nagy, and pianist Sanda Schuldmann, and cellist Harry Clark. This performance will include original theater/classical work using music, poems and literature thought solely of women from the 1880s through the 1940s. Performers will be performing music by Fanny Hensel, Clara Schumann, Amy Beach, Lili and Nadia Boulanger Words. The literature and poetry will draw form works of Hanna Arendt, Jane Austen, Nadia Boulanger, Willa Cather, Adelaide Crapsey, Emily Dickinson, Zelda Fitzgerald, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Corra May White Harris, Sarah Orne Jewett, Amy Lowell, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Marianne Moore, Dorothy Parker, Mary Shaw, Gertrude Stein, Edith Wharton and Virginia Woolf.

Student, senior, and group discounts are available for most events. Kerr Cultural Center, a facility of ASU Public Events, is handicap accessible.

The studio is located at 6110 N. Scottsdale Rd., which is off Rose Lane, west of Scottsdale Road, directly south of the Borgata of Scottsdale. Tickets can also be purchased at ASU Gammage and through any Ticketmaster outlet.
