Phoenix Zoo’s “12 Days of Tweets” Promotion Begins Sunday, Dec. 13 through Thursday, Dec. 24 during Zoolights
Phoenix, AZ – A variety of specials and giveaways will be tweeted daily for Twitter followers of @PhoenixZoo.
The Phoenix Zoo just announced its 12 Days of Tweets promotion offering all of the Zoo’s Twitter followers the opportunity to receive special offers and giveaways (while supplies last) every night between 7 – 8 p.m. during ZooLights beginning Sunday, Dec. 13 through Thursday, Dec. 24.
The Zoo will tweet what the special offer or giveaway is for its followers each day during the promotion. Some of the giveaways featured in the Zoo’s 12 Days of Tweets include free tickets to ride the Endangered Species Carousel and Stingray Bay, special discounts at the gift shop, and commemorative Phoenix Zoo Christmas tree ornaments to name a few.

According to Twitter, the Phoenix Zoo is ranked No. 4 out of all zoos with Twitter addresses with more than 4,000 followers to date. At this pace, it’s expected that by May 2010, the Phoenix Zoo will be ranked the No. 1 zoo on Twitter with more than 10,000 followers.

ZooLights, open every night from 6 – 10 p.m. through Jan. 10, 2010 — including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, is a Valley holiday tradition featuring special lighted animal armatures and several fun experiences including the debut of a new, life-size lighted Komodo display in celebration of the Zoo’s new Komodo dragon exhibit, Land of the Dragons.
Ticket prices are $9, $7 for Zoo members Sunday through Thursday and $10, $8 for Zoo members Friday and Saturday. Children two years and younger are free. Fry’s discount: $9 “Any Night” tickets are good for any night of ZooLights, 7 nights a week. Group tickets (50 or more) can be purchased for $7 each if ordered in advance. Tickets are not dated and can be used any time during ZooLights. Tickets are non refundable.
