Tempe Town Lake Turns 10 Celebration Lines Up Great Set of Local Musicians
Tempe, AZ – Music has always played an important part of Tempe’s culture, so it figures that Tempe Town Lake would have an history of great bands.
When Tempe Town Lake turns 10 this Saturday, about a dozen of the best musicians the lake has seen will help in the celebration.
Chuck E. Baby has lined up an All Star Jam Session of musicians, including: Hans Olson, Walt Richardson, the Swamp Coolers, Come Back Buddy, Noel Kirkland of Glenn Campbell band fame, Dirty Lingo, Face Value, Chris Alcaraz & More Love, and finally, Bear Hug.
The music begins at 3 p.m. at Tempe Beach Park and lasts until the boat parade begins at 7 p.m. Everyone will be asked to sing Happy Birthday to Town Lake at 6:45 to get the parade started.
And don’t forget to bring a gift for the birthday lake – Tempe Community Council will collect canned food, clothes, toys and hygiene items for Tempe’s less fortunate.
