Tri-Lite Named Contractor of the Year, Sixth Year in a Row

East Valley’s premiere home remodeling company takes home more honors for bathroom remodeling project

CHANDLER, ARIZ. - Tri-Lite Builders, a Chandler-based design/build remodeling company, was named the winner of the prestigious 2010 Contractor of the Year Award for a “Bathroom Remodel over $50,000” on Saturday. The Greater Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) presented Tri-Lite with the award at its annual holiday party today in Scottsdale, Dec. 5.

This is Tri-Lite Builders’ sixth NARI award. In 2008, Tri-Lite Builders won the Contractor of the Year (CotY) award for their exemplary work on a Residential Addition more than $250,000.

The Greater Phoenix NARI CotY Awards featured entries in 12 categories competing for an award. A panel of expert judges ranked the entries based on the project’s functionality, problem solving, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation. A CotY award is only given if the project receives an 85 percent or greater score from the judges.

Tri-Lite won the award for their innovative transformation of a 1990s “Pepto-Bismol Pink” bathroom into an inviting, spa-like atmosphere. Faced with an existing bathroom that had a lot of wasted and underused space, Tri-Lite redesigned the space to capture both elegance and luxury while capitalizing on the large available area. The remodeler closed in the oddly-shaped closet, replacing it with a modern bathtub, and removed awkward and potentially hazardous steps leading up to the original bathtub and shower. Tri-Lite strategically placed indirect lighting was behind the tub to create a mellow, relaxed feeling and hid electrical outlets inside cabinets to give the vanity area a clean, smart look.

This bathroom remodel has swept local and national award contests this year and was even featured on the November 2009 cover of national magazine Kitchen and Bath Design News. The bathroom also garnered a national 2009 Master Design Award sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine, earlier this year.

Tri-Lite Builders is submitting the winning local entry to the next level of the NARI awards contest in consideration for a regional and national CotY Award. NARI will announce the regional and national winners at its annual “Evening of Excellence,” to be held in Phoenix on April 10, 2010.
