Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus start their vacations off with a splash in Tempe

Community invited to 5th annual Swimming with Santa event at Kiwanis Recreation Center
TEMPE, Ariz. – Kids looking for a memorable and unique way to thank Santa for his holiday cheer are invited to the 5th annual Swimming with Santa event at Kiwanis Recreation Center, 6111 S. All America Way, on Dec. 26 and 27 from 1-3 p.m.
Those young and young-at-heart are invited to join Santa and Mrs. Claus in Kiwanis Recreation Center’s heated, indoor wave pool where they can swim with Santa and thank him for their holiday gifts. In addition to riding the waves with Santa, the event features stories and magic with Mrs. Claus, as well as holiday music and games. Cookies and milk will be provided and free prizes will be raffled.
Admission for the event is $3 for kids ages 2-12 and $6 for ages 13 and older the day of the event. Discount tickets are available at the Kiwanis Recreation Center’s front desk beginning Nov. 30, with $2 admission for kids ages 2-12 and $4 for ages 13 and older. Children under the age of 8 must have an adult with them at all times while in the water.
For those looking to frolic and play in the water before the event, Kiwanis Recreation Center’s pool will remain open for calm water swim until Tuesday, Dec. 22. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4:30-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 8-11 a.m.
The Kiwanis Wave Pool will be open for Winter Waves Dec. 26-30 from 1-5 p.m.
