Pima Medical Institute to Donate Teddy Bears to Cardon Children’s Medical Center on Nov. 14
Mesa, AZ – Hospital visits can be scary for kids, but students at the Mesa campus of Pima Medical Institute (PMI), a leading medical career college based in Arizona, are helping to ease those fears by building new best friends for children who are fighting illnesses at the new Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa.
Thirty nursing students and staff from PMI will visit Build-A-Bear Workshop at Chandler Fashion Center on Thursday, Nov. 12 to choose, stuff and name bears. They will also dress the bears in Pima scrubs, matching the students’ own attire. Then on Saturday, Nov. 14, National American Teddy Bear Day, the students and staff will visit Cardon Children’s Medical Center to tour the new facilities, which opened on Nov. 2, and present the bears to children. The children will also get a special visit from the Build-A-Bear mascot, Bearemy.
