International Young Artist Competition Seeking Submissions
Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix Sister Cities is seeking submissions for the International Young Artist Competition, open to young people between the ages of 13 and 18 who have an artistic flair and live in Phoenix and their sister cities.
This year’s theme, “Your World,” aims to promote and recognize how international exchanges, travel and experiences have influenced the artist’s life. All submissions must be interpreted in artwork of watercolors, oils, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal, mixed media, photography or computer-generated art. Framed artwork is not eligible.
Submissions must be two-dimensional artwork no larger than 24 inches by 30 inches and must be the original design and work of the student artist. Artwork must be mounted on foam core or matted. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.
All submissions will be displayed locally in March 2010, at the Irish Cultural Center and Phoenix City Hall Atrium. Winning entries will be submitted to the Sister Cities International Competition in Washington, D.C.
