New West Valley Krispy Kreme Opens With Doughnut Dan’s Glazed Ticket Giveaway

PHOENIX – Doughnut Dan delivers more than doughnuts with his new 7,611-square-foot factory-style Krispy Kreme store, set to open Tuesday, Nov. 10 and located just south of 83d Avenue and Bell Road. In addition to being a doughnut lover’s dream complete with a new take on kid’s meals, Krispy Kreme historical signage and a theatre-style viewing of production, he is giving Arizonans the chance to win cash, doughnuts and coffee on opening day.

In honor of the store’s made from scratch doughnuts, the first 250 guests in line on opening day will receive a “Doughnut Dan Glazed Ticket” scratch off card for their chance to win prizes including FREE dozens, FREE coffee and doughnut, FREE beverages, etc. One lucky glazed ticket winner will receive a grand prize of $1,000 and a lifetime supply of doughnuts, and one second-place winner will receive $500 and a one-year supply of doughnuts.

Promising to be the West Valley’s newest family destination, the store will feature the traditional “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign that will illuminate when the store is making hot, fresh Original Glazed doughnuts as well as several features unique to Arizona at every turn.

“I want my customers to enjoy themselves as much as I do at this store,” said Doughnut Dan Brinton, Krispy Kreme Arizona franchisee. “So, from day one, we’re going to make their experience a memorable one.”

The fun begins outside where people can watch the processing station in action. From a large sidewalk window, guests will observe doughnuts being filled with jellies and creams and topped with powdered sugars and sprinkles. Once inside the store, a historic timeline of Krispy Kreme road signs and five “Hot Doughnuts Now” signs add to customers’ excitement as they approach the doughnut theatre where they’ll watch doughnuts glide down the production line.

Even ordering will be more entertaining with a new kids meal consisting of two doughnuts and a milk served on a souvenir Krispy Kreme Frisbee for just $3.99. Patrons can also order from the first-ever Krispy Kreme milk bar featuring Shamrock Farms milk. The orders will be zip-lined from the cash register to the milk bar where guests can choose a flavored milk or make their own creation using flavor mix-ins.

The store will also feature a kid’s area complete with a flat screen TV and Wii sports games. And, because Doughnt Dan wants to continually give back to the community, the store boasts a Krispy Kreme photo booth with 100 percent of its proceeds going to Homeward Bound.

“I firmly believe that the neighborhood doughnut shop should support the neighborhood. I’m delivering this on an ongoing basis with the photo booth, and will directly reward neighborhood customers grand opening day with my ‘Doughnut Dan Glazed Ticket’ scratch off instant winner cards,” said Brinton.

The new West Valley store’s doughnut-making machine is capable of producing more than 200 dozen made-from-scratch doughnuts an hour. The menu will offer 15 varieties of doughnuts, including Krispy Kreme’s signature Hot Original Glazed doughnut. The store will also offer Krispy Kreme’s Signature Coffee line that features two drip coffees for only $.25 – Rich and Robust Decaf – all made from high-quality coffee beans. What’s more, the store will feature $.99 specialty coffee drinks as well as offering Krispy Kreme Chillers and many varieties of Shamrock Farms milk.

The West Valley Krispy Kreme is Brinton’s ninth store (seven in Phoenix and two in Tucson) since his entry into Arizona in May 2008. Including the additional 60 jobs created with West Valley store opening, Brinton has created more than 200 new Arizona jobs.

The new West Valley store will be open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information about Krispy Kreme Arizona, people can visit the new www.krispykremeaz.com or call 480-325-6789.
