New video blog showcases “Behind the Scenes” look at the Center’s renovations
CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Chandler Center for the Arts announced today the launch of a video blog revealing a behind-the-scenes look at the Center. Hosted by technical production coordinator Kevin Sweet, the video blog features an inside look at the Center’s renovations, scope of work and the Center’s key technical capabilities. Highlighted by Sweet’s sense of humor and rarely seen views from the rooftop, basement tunnels and more, the video blog is available on the Center’s YouTube Channel and accessible from the homepage http://www.chandlercenter.org/ through the “YouTube Channel” tab.
In its initial stages, the video blog is currently focused on providing updated information on the construction, but will become an ongoing series that continues beyond the renovations.
“This is one of our ongoing initiatives to further connect the Chandler community to the Center and provide an inside look into our facility,” General Manager Katrina Mueller said. “Having one of the Center’s employees host the video is a great way to showcase the talented people that work behind the scenes. The video blog is shot in a fast-paced, first-person documentary style and allows Kevin to explore rarely seen parts of the Center, share best kept stories and provide a glimpse of the Center’s technical capabilities.”
Sweet will document the progress of the renovations on a regular basis as the Center undergoes construction and will alert followers to new videos via the Center’s Twitter (@ChandlerArts) or its Facebook page. Upcoming highlights include construction of an accessible ramp in the main foyer, refurbished seating, new carpet and paint, as well as new theatre dimming racks. In November, the construction team will begin work on replacing the main theatre’s rigging system.
Chandler Center for the Arts’ just kicked off its 2009-2010 season with Southern rocker and American Idol finalist Bo Bice, Oct. 17. As the Chandler Center completes $6.7 million in renovations this year, performances are taking place either at the Higley venue or in the Chandler Center’s 350-seat Bogle Theater, foyer or west lawn area.
