VolunTEAMism emerges to bring a purposeful element to team-building activities and help volunteering become a lifestyle
Scottsdale, Ariz. – TeamPlay USA, a long-standing corporate team-building, recreation company headquartered in Scottsdale, announces the emergence of its new caused-based, team-building program entitled, VolunTEAMism.
VolunTEAMism is a new process that combines Team Play USA’s creative problem-solving and team-building to activities that ultimately give back to the community. The VolunTEAMism program also is designed with the goal to help its participants have a more balanced life through volunteering becoming part of a lifestyle. The program starts with social, team-building volunteering activities and transitions to individual volunteer work for a continued lifestyle change.
“One common theme I heard throughout my years of leading corporate team-building workshops, is that people often said that they wished they had more time in their lives to volunteer,” said Todd Davis, founder of the VolunTEAMism and president and CEO of TeamPlay USA. “VolunTEAMism really evolved as it became apparent to me that people want more than just motivation in a team-building setting; they want activities that create a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, which helps them become more fulfilled, balanced people and thus, better employees,” Davis added.
Davis has been in the recreation industry since 1975. To create the VolunTEAMism program, he partnered with his longtime friend, Brian Chatum, who has an extensive background in nonprofit resource development and corporate donations. Together, Davis and Chatum draw upon their journey in corporate America with Todd building a successful team-building business designing and providing “team experiences” and Brian specializing in recruiting corporate donations and sponsorships for nonprofits.
The VolunTEAMism program works with its partnered charities or with specific causes or charities of interest to its participants. The VolunTEAMism program is customized to each organization to meet its goals and a VolunTEAMism representative (i.e. VTEAM Coach) guides the organization throughout the three-step process of VolunTEAMism.
The first step in the process involves a “Discovery Workshop” led by a VTEAM Coach that is geared to change the way people think and feel toward taking the time to volunteer. The second step includes a problem-solving challenge that incorporates a social volunteering activity. These activities can range from a team chef challenge or a bicycle building challenge, whereby the meals and bicycles are donated to participating charities. The third and final step involves its participants to autonomously pursue individual volunteer activities in their area of interest for continued volunteering.
For ongoing VolunTEAMism projects, the program has a not-for-profit foundation entitled, Give To Win Foundation, providing the opportunity to raise funds to be used by the participating organization for any community cause. The Give To Win Foundation creates a new culture of giving that is designed for individuals and organizations to generate and manage their VolunTEAMism experiences.
