End of Summer Adventure Camp Starts August 3rd
Peoria, AZ – The Challenger Space Center in Peoria is once again offering students a chance to jump start the school year right with an End-of-Summer Adventure Camp beginning the week of Aug. 3.
The week-long, all-day camp is for kids, ages six to 14, and is designed to be both entertaining and educational. Activities include games, movies, arts & crafts, hands-on experiments and variety of experiments designed to inspire kids to embrace their natural love for science, technology, engineering and math skills.
“We find this is a great way to transition the kids from summer to school-year,” said Valerie Bontrager, educational manager at The Challenger Space Center. “Many of the school district’s summer programs are finished at the end of July, so this is an alternative to having the kids sit home the week before school starts and watch TV or play video games.”
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost is $175 per child. Extended care is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for an additional $15 per child, per day.
Registration for the program is ongoing. Packet information can be obtained by visiting the Center’s Web site at www.azchallenger.org/ or by calling (623) 322-2001.
