Money Magazine Releases Their Annual Issue on the Top 10 Small Towns
Some places have everything any family could want: economic opportunity, affordable homes, good schools, safe streets, and an all-around terrific quality of life. Where are those places right now? To find out, MONEY Magazine dug into that question in a big way, amassing scores of statistics on small towns (those with populations of 8,500 to 50,000) throughout the country. The results were released in their annual “Best Places to Live” issue on Monday July 13, 2009. The annual ranking of the best places to live in America describes the nation’s Top 10 small towns in detail, plus lists the top 100 towns of this size. CNNMoney.com also has an online-only database with statistics for more than 1,850 towns and cities with a population of 8,500 and higher.
In 2007, the last time MONEY measured small towns, Middleton, Wis. ranked as the best place to live. Last year, when it focused on large cities (population 50,000 to 300,000), Plymouth, Minn. took top honors. So which place is No. 1 this year?
