Valley’s Medical Hub Continues to Experience Growth

Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists welcomes J. Todd Davis, MD, and adds 1,000 square feet to facility
GILBERT, Ariz. - With more than ten large outpatient facilities and hospitals, Gilbert has become the hub for healthcare in the Valley. Due to the increased patient demand, Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists, a private practice located in the San Tan corridor in Gilbert, announces the hire of sports medicine specialist, J. Todd Davis, MD. Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists is lead by orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship trained sports surgeon, Craig Weinstein, MD, MPH.
Dr. Davis joins Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists with years of experience in sports and family medicine. He was the first sports medicine fellow at Arizona State University, having completed his family medicine residency at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborne. Through the years as a specialist, Dr. Davis has worked with several high school teams and clubs throughout the Valley. Currently, Dr. Davis is a primary care sports medicine provider for the Arizona Diamondbacks and assistant sports medicine consultant for Major League Baseball umpires.
Dr. Davis specializes in the non-operative medical treatment of sports injuries of athletes of all ages and all levels of participation. He received his B.S. in Biological Sciences/Pre-Medicine from Ohio University and his Doctorate of Medicine degree from Ohio State University.
“The addition of a primary care sports specialist will provide us with the capability to address the whole spectrum of sports injuries and athletic medicine needs both surgical and non-surgical.” said Craig Weinstein, MD, MPH. “Dr. Davis’ ability to serve more patients will directly benefit the rapidly growing needs in this community as well as enhance our volunteer community presence as team physicians for numerous local area high schools and sports clubs.”
Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists, is currently in the process of adding 1,000 square feet to their office and is one of the first orthopaedic practices from south Gilbert to Casa Grande that is focused on sports medicine surgery and athletic injuries. The expansion will include three additional exam rooms, support space, and extra space to house additional doctors as future growth demands.
“We are expanding our capabilities to provide quicker patient access as well as expanded surgery consultation and patient education areas,” said Dr. Weinstein.
