Segway of Tempe Now Open at Hayden Ferry Lakeside

Valley Residents invited to Test Drive Segway Personal Transporter at Segway of Tempe Grand Opening Celebration June 27
TEMPE, Ariz. – Segway of Tempe, the third dealership in Arizona selling the electric powered two-wheel scooter, is now open for business at Hayden Ferry Lakeside in Tempe. A weekend of Grand Opening activities begins Friday, June 26.
City officials and members of the media are invited to Segway of Tempe for its official ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 26.
Valley residents are invited to take a free test drive on a Segway Personal Transporter (PT) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.
“Segway PTs are both fun to ride and environmentally friendly,” said Brian Lamacchia, Segway of Tempe co-owner. “Pair that with the largest urban body of water in the state and the progressive atmosphere of Tempe, and we provide an experience unlike any other in Arizona.”
In addition to Segway sales, the dealership will provide 90-minute tours around the six-mile perimeter of Tempe Town Lake. Tours depart at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., daily. Two-person tours start at $150, but a special introductory rate, valid through November, will discount $50 off the purchase price of two tours.
The price of an individual Segway unit varies between $5,350 and $6,400, depending on which model and options a buyer may choose. Segway of Tempe will stock nine different models in its showroom.
Segway of Tempe is located at Hayden Ferry Lakeside at 74 E. Rio Salado Parkway. The dealership will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends, by appointment, for scheduled tours.
Lamacchia also owns a second Segway dealership in Scottsdale. The third Segway dealership in Arizona is located in Lake Havasu City.
