Study Shows Popular Dog Training Methods Increase Aggressive Behavior in Dogs.

Phoenix Dog Trainer and Professional Dog Behaviorist, Bill Glatzel, Founder and CEO of TLC K9 Academy a Nationwide Dog Training company headquartered in Phoenix Arizona agrees and says this goes along with the new position statements on Punishment in Dog Training and also Dominance theory in Dog training recently releaed by the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior .

“With the rise in popularity of Dog Training Shows on TV, and Celebrity Dog Trainers like “The Dog Whisperer,” Cesar Millan, on the National Geographic Channel and other Dog Trainers seen on Animal Planet, dog owners are often given bad advice that may make their dog’s aggression and unwanted behaviors worse, and get the dog owners potentially hurt, bit and injured,” says noted Phoenix Dog Trainer and Dog Behaviorist, Bill Glatzel. Many Dog Behaviorists Warn against Dog Training Methods like that of Cesar Millan and the “Dog Whisperer” Lawsuit that is Drawing Experts Criticism

Bill Glatzel and his Nationwide Dog Training Company, TLC K9 Academy, specialize in extreme dog aggression in dogs and extreme fears, phobias and anxiety in dogs.  “The last thing that anyone, especially a so-called professional dog trainer should be doing with an aggressive dog is to use dog training methods that might create more fear, anxiety, or intimidation in the dog.  Dogs do not need to experience fear, pain or punishment to learn,” says Glatzel.

“As a Dog Trainer in Phoenix, and in our Phoenix Dog Training practice, we see a lot of canine aggression towards other dogs – dog on dog aggression, and towards people – dogs with people aggression.  The behavior modification work we do in our Arizona Dog Training Programs, and our National Dog Training Programs have proved over and over, almost 99% of all aggression in dogs is based in fear, and anxiety,” says Glatzel.

TLC K9 Academy and Professional Dog Trainer and Dog Behaviorist, Bill Glatzel says, “I have always suspected that aggression has its roots in fear and anxiety.  The dog perceives a fear or threat and only acts out in aggression.  Aggression in Dogs is based in fear and anxiety.  It makes perfect sense that uneducated dog trainers and uneducated dog owners that use punishment, try to be “dominant,” and try to intimidate dogs with aggression only makes the dog more fearful and anxious leading to more aggressive behavior.”  “We only use humane and gentle behavior modification dog training methods in our Phoenix Dog Obedience Programs.”

Owners and dog trainers who try to use dominance theory, punishment, forceful and “dog whispering” training methods will almost always be creating more aggression in their pets and often will get themselves bit and injured.

Bill Glatzel says, “You should always contact a real professional for help with ANY Dog Aggression or Dog Obedience Training .  A dog owner with serious dog aggression problems may need a Dog Behaviorist and a Professional Dog Trainer who specializes in Dog Aggression.”

“Our dog training and puppy training methods are Force-Free, Gentle, Fun, and Guaranteed for the Life of your Dog!” We employ positive reinforcement dog training, clicker training at times, and other dog training equipment may be used. A World Renowned Dog Trainer and Professional Animal and Dog Behaviorist, Lecturer, Author, Celebrity Dog Trainer, and media/legal consultant, Bill enjoys dealing with dogs deemed “untreatable.” “One thing Bill Glatzel is most proud of is how many dogs we have saved at TLC K9 Academy from Euthanasia. We have never had to tell a client to euthanize their dog. When other dog trainers tell owners to “put down” their dog or a Veterinarian says there is no hope, We Offer a Solution…We offer Hope. Bill Glatzel Specializes in the most difficult of Dog Behavior Problems, Extreme Dog Aggression and Severe Anxiety disorders in dogs, ritualistic and obsessive compulsive dog problems. He is an Expert in Canine Behavioral Medicine – “K9 Guru,” “Amazing,” a “Magician,” the “Real” Dog Whisperer, Dog whispering, these are just some of the words dog owners have used to describe the magic, ease, and rapport, when seeing Bill Glatzel connect with animals. One person accused Bill of using some form of “Hypnosis,” to put a dog into a trance. The amazing connection Bill has with animals can look magical, and his ability to tap into the minds and behavior of dogs and puppies seems at times to be hypnotic. Whatever the magic, Bill has been “Dancing with Dogs,” since 1976, for over 33 years. He has frequently been called in as a consultant when other notable trainers like Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer have not had success. “We get a couple of Cesar’s clients each year. We provide the best most comprehensive dog training and puppy training anywhere. We take dog training to a whole new level!” There is a science and an art to training a dog, or training puppies.
