Schedule for City of Tempe

TEMPE, Arizona – In observance of Independence Day, the City of Tempe will close all administrative offices on Friday, July 3.  City of Tempe Independence Day Schedule for LIBRARY AND CULTURAL CENTERS, PARKS AND RECREATION, COMMUNITY CENTERS, GOLF COURSES and OTHER FACILITIES for the Fourth of July will be as follows:

PARKS AND RECREATION
Tempe Beach Park will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. for the CBS 5 Tempe Town Lake Festival. The Town Lake Operations Center will be open July 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed July 4. Kiwanis Recreation Center, 6111 S. All-America Way, will be open July 3 from 8 a.m. 7 p.m. and July 4 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Wave Pool will be open July 3 and 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. (480-350-5201). Kiwanis Park Batting Range will be open July 3 from 4 to 9 p.m. and closed July 4 (480-350-5727). Cox Park Splash Playground in Tempe Beach Park, Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway, will be closed July 3 and open July 4 from 4 to 9 p.m. (480-350-8625). Jaycee Splash Playground, 715 W. Fifth St., will be closed July 3 and open July 4 from 4 to 10 p.m. (480-350-5200). Clark Park Pool, 1730 S. Roosevelt St., is closed for the season. Escalante Pool, 2150 E Orange St., will be open from July 3 and 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. (480-350-5204).McClintock Pool, 1830 E. Del Rio Drive, will be open July 3 from 1 to 8 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. July 4 (480-350-5858).

LIBRARY AND CULTURAL CENTERS
Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Road, will be open July 3 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed July 4 (480-350-5500). Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave., is closed for renovation. Petersen House Museum, 1414 W. Southern Ave., will be closed July 3 and 4 (480-350-5151). Edna Vihel Center for the Arts, 3340 S. Rural Road, will be closed July 3 and 4 (480-350-5287). Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, will be closed July 3 and open July 4 only for scheduled private events (480-350-2829).

COMMUNITY CENTERS
The Escalante Community Center, 2150 E. Orange St., will be open July 3 and 4 from noon to 6 p.m., and the center’s pool will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. (480-350-5800). Westside Community Center, 715 W. Fifth St., will be closed July 3 and 4 (480-858-2400). Pyle Adult Recreation Center, 655 E. Southern Ave., will be closed July 3 and 4 (480-350-5211). The North Tempe Multigenerational Center, 1555 N. Bridalwreath St., will be closed July 3 and 4 (480-858-6500).

GOLF COURSES
Ken McDonald Golf Course, 800 E. Divot Drive, will be open July 3 and 4 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. (480-350-5250). Rolling Hills Golf Course, 1415 N. Mill Ave., will be open July 3 and 4 from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (480-350-5275).

OTHER FACILITIES
The Household Products Collection Center, 1320 E. University Drive, will be open July 3 from 7 a.m. to noon and July 4 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (480-858-2223).

Emergency services will be unaffected by the holiday, and residential and commercial recycling/solid waste collection will take place under normal operating hours. Bus service will operate under normal holiday hours. Most routes serving downtown Tempe will have expanded service from 3 p.m. July 4 to 2 a.m. July 5. Light rail will run every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. July 4 and 2 a.m. July 5. Visit www.valleymetro.org for a complete list of routes and schedules.
