Gym Owners Join Forces to Open Martial Arts Training Facility in Peoria

Siege MMA has quickly become the training center of choice for mixed martial artists valleywide
Peoria, AZ. – West Valley gym owners Jeff Paulson and Chip Kirk have not only successfully transformed Siege MMA into the largest mixed martial arts training facility in Peoria, it is now the training center of choice for elite athletes and MMA enthusiasts across the valley. Paulson, previously of AP Fighting, and Kirk of Siege MMA, both shared a common goal, to expand to a larger facility and offer the best mixed martial arts training in the Valley. Together they did just that. Siege MMA recently moved to a new, much larger location, and with over 20 years of mixed martial arts experience between them, they immediately attracted top-notch instructors and continue to gain loyal members.
The new state-of-the-art facility, located in Suite 110 at 9802 N. 91st Ave in Peoria, boasts over 8,000 square feet of training area, including 2,000 square feet of grappling and striking mat space, a full size boxing/MMA ring, a competition octagon for MMA training and top of the line cardio and conditioning equipment. Siege MMA offers the very best in mixed martial arts training.
“We welcome all skill levels, including individuals that have never trained in mixed martial arts before. It’s not only a fast and effective way to lose weight and get in shape, our students also gain very valuable self-defense skills. We teach students at all skill levels, including professional athletes training to win state and national level championships for Jui Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo and MMA,” states Jeff Paulson, Co-Owner and instructor at Siege MMA.
Chip Kirk, also a Co-Owner of Siege MMA, had this to add, “At Siege MMA we also cater to MMA fighters at the professional level. Our instructors help them prepare for upcoming fights by helping them perfect the skills needed to dominate opponents and move up in rank, from local MMA events to UFC level fights. There are several professional fighters currently training at Siege, such as UFC Veteran Joe “Diesel” Riggs who will face Phil Baroni at the Strikeforce eventon June 6th and Steve Eldridge who will take on Robert Sarkozi for the Gladiator Challenge Middle Weight belt on May 30th. A superior team of instructors, all experts in their respective discipline, teach men, women and children of all skill levels, from beginners to professional competitors. Classes offered at Siege MMA:
- Muay Thai - This form of martial arts uses all parts of the body for both training and competitions.It is referred to as ‘The Science of Eight Limbs,’ as the hands, shins, elbows and knees are all used extensively in this art.
- Women’s Cardio Kickboxing -A full body workout thatincorporatesmixed martial arts kicks and boxing strikes.
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (with Gi) – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling with an emphasis on ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. Sparring in class, live drills, and conditioning play a major role in training. The Siege MMA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is associated with Lotus Club Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- Submission Wrestling – Submission Wrestling is essentially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the Gi. There are no strikes in submission wrestling. As with Jiu-Jitsu, the goal of submission wrestling is to gain a dominant position and by using a submission technique to cause the opponent to submit or ‘tap out.’
- Mixed Martial Arts – In Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) a wide variety of fighting techniques are used, including striking and grappling. Siege MMA classes allow members to put all of their trained disciplines together (Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, and Grappling). MMA classes are for students thathave acquired skillsin each individual discipline.
- Sports Conditioning -Take your workout to the next level with intense training that includes both cardio and strength training moves.
- Martial Arts Programs for Children - Age defined programsare offered in Kick Boxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
- Private Lessons – Private Lessons are offered for Muay Thai, Grappling, Jiu Jitsu, MMA and Self-defense.
