As Arizona faces serious economic challenges, community leaders will come together on Monday, May 18 to discuss how to get the state back on track as part of 3TV’s prime-time special, 3TV Town Hall: Rebuilding Arizona’s Economy. The Town Hall will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 8:00-9:30 p.m. Live on 3TV and live streaming on azfamily.com
The 90-minute prime-time event is part of 3TV’s series of town halls and is being held in partnership with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. The event comes on the heels of GPEC’s Convening the Community 2: Moving Toward Solutions. The May 12 workshop emphasized what policy improvements could be made to increase Arizona’s competitiveness for job creation and increase revenues for the state. That solutions-orientated dialogue will continue on Monday in front of a live audience that will include political, civic, business and education leaders.
3TV’s Scott Pasmore will moderate a discussion of the Arizona Economic Crisis by this panel of seven community leaders.
- Michael Crow, president, Arizona State University
- Mayor Phil Gordon, City of Phoenix
- Michael Bidwill, chairman, GPEC
- Barry Broome, president/CEO, GPEC
- Candace Wiest, president/CEO, West Valley National Bank
- Angelos Angelou, principal executive officer, Angelou Economics
- Doug Henton, president/CEO, Collaborative Economics
The Town Hall will be held at the Arizona Capitol Museum Former Senate Chamber, 3rd Floor 1700 W. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ on Monday, May 18 8-9:30 p.m.
